Can be spent in more than 1,000 stores
Huis & Tuin Cadeau can be purchased from October at Primera, Bruna, Jumbo, AKO and The Read Shop, among others. It is an open-loop gift card that can be spent on the full range at all Xenos, Groenrijk, Riverdale, Blokker, Trendhopper, Eijerkamp, Woonexpress, Budget Home Store, Coppelmans, Praxis, Fleurop stores and more than 125 independent garden centers. That’s more than 1,000 home furnishings stores and more than 150 garden centers throughout the Netherlands! The giver determines the amount (between €5 and €150) he or she puts on the gift card, making Huis & Tuin Cadeau a suitable gift for every occasion.
An innovative concept
The gift card was invented by Annemijn Borsten, Sr. Business Development Manager at GiftFor2 BV She is responsible for the concept and its development, contracting, design and retail sales. Annemijn: “The demand for open-loop gift cards is increasing sharply. Consumers want the widest possible choice and we would like to meet that wish. After the successful introduction of Klus Cadeau and Bloemen Cadeau in April 2016, we wanted to broaden our product portfolio with the popular home and garden sector.” Huis & Tuin Cadeau is the very first open-loop gift card in the home and garden industry. With the energetic appearance of the design, Huis & Tuin Cadeau fits perfectly with the wishes of the Dutch consumer.
Cards Unlimited goes for quality
At Cards Unlimited we have been working intensively with GiftFor2 for some time for experience gifts and gift cards such as Klus Cadeau and Bloemen Cadeau. Michiel Kraak, Supply Chain Officer at GiftFor2 BV, is responsible for all production processes and frequently interacts with Cards Unlimited. Michiel: “Cards Unlimited distinguishes itself from other players in the market by focusing on quality. We have hired a partner who can take us far and give the product exactly the right look.”
Tight deadlines
Just in time for the retail holiday season, Huis & Cadeau is on the shelves. That was another challenge. “In addition to Huis & Tuin Cadeau, Klus Cadeau and Bloemen Cadeau also had to go into production. We ran these different products in one run, which requires a lot of last-minute work and accuracy to guarantee correct and timely delivery,” Michiel reveals. “At the last minute, an extra variant of Huis & Tuin Cadeau even had to be printed for our retailer Bruna. This had to be done in a relatively short period of time, but Cards Unlimited ensured that we met the deadline. This means that all products are on the shelves in time for the holidays.”
