The versatility of an access pass
When you look at an access pass, you often see nothing special: in most cases a plastic pass, possibly with a customer number, personal details or a barcode. The technology behind it is the great asset of access passes. The main goal, of course, is to give people access (and exclude other people). In addition, you can also store important information about the use of the pass. We can also fully personalize an access pass with, for example, name and address details, passport photos, etc.

We are Virtuagym’s preferred supplier for supplying RFID passes for members, for access and control. When fitness companies use Virtuagym’s membership administration package, most also opt for a check-in module. With this module, customers can check in with a card by holding it against an RFID reader. Virtuagym works together with Cards Unlimited for the cards. A perfect collaboration! In addition to the usual passes, we also supply RFID drops and bracelets that work with the Virtuagym software system. You can read RFID cards with an RFID reader that our partner Virtual Security offers.
Request a quoteThe advantages of RFID technology
In most cases, access passes use RFID (Radio-frequency identification) technology. The card itself contains an integrated antenna and chip. This has many advantages:
- Decide in advance which information needs to be collected. For an underground waste container, consider how many times the pass can still be used; for an OV chip card, consider keeping track of travel details and balance;
- Fast reading and greater reading distances than, for example, barcodes;
- Various security options;
- Product counterfeiting is very complex due to the unique coding;
- The RFID chip cannot be damaged because it is incorporated into the card itself.
When you think of an access pass, you quickly think of plastic cards, but RFID drops and bracelets are also possible.
